Nicola Rubinstein knows what Pat Phelan is like better than anybody and if there’s one person who won’t be manipulated by his clever webs of lies then it would likely be her. So why is she suddenly back in Coronation Street and seemingly seeking her dad’s forgiveness?
Fans saw Nicola leave in disgust after discovering that Phelan had raped her mother – while also believing that he had framed Anna Windass for pushing Seb Franklin. As Anna hears her verdict this week, Phelan will find out if he has had his final revenge on his enemy but either way he is soon set to get a surprising visitor.
Nicola calls at the builder’s yard and Phelan is stunned to see his daughter there – and she could well be his biggest weakness. As she apologises for disbelieving him, she begs for another chance but has she got ulterior motives?
Nicola also apologises to Eileen for not sticking up for her dad when he was innocent of everything that he was accused of and Phelan is delighted to have her back. He also gets the good news that he has the site manager job at the old mill where Andy and Vinny’s bodies are buried.
But as everything comes up smelling like roses once again for Phelan, should he be getting too cocky? Or is there more to Nicola’s return than meets the eye?
Let’s not forget quite how much she hated her father after what she discovered…
It remains to be seen whether Nicola has genuinely fallen under Phelan’s spell or whether she is planning something but fans have long tipped her as a contender to bring the builder down when his inevitable comeuppance plays out…
