Somehow it has come to pass that Shakira hasn’t performed in the UK in eight years.
Thankfully, this wrong is about to be righted as the singer has decided to bring her El Dorado world tour to London in June to make sure she doesn’t hit the 10 year mark without a UK gig.
The 40-year-old will be taking to the O2 stage on 11 June ready to perform her biggest hits as well as her new music.
‘I can’t wait to be onstage in London again singing along with all of you, all of your favourites and mine.
‘It’s going to be fun! The road to El Dorado starts now!’
The last time she performed in the UK was in 2010 on Glastonbury’s Pyramid stage.
El Dorado was released last May and marks Shakira’s 11th studio album, which has also received a Grammy nod.
Tickets to this special gig will go on sale Friday 26 January at 9am.
