Mysterious four day music licensing notices have been appearing around Sheffield’s Hillsborough Park, and for Arctic Monkeys fans, that can only mean one thing.
Four Arctic Monkeys concerts? An Arctic Monkeys homecoming show? A four day festival with Arctic Monkeys as a headline?
Either way they are convinced that the AM rockers are hitting the city and have already started to book up hotels.
This is going to be huge!
Rumours were rife, especially with the Tramlines festival being turned down.
The document has sparked excitement in the indie scene as it reveals that SJM Concerts have applied for a four-day music event to take place at Hillsborough Park.
It states that these four dates will be during the month of September and will take place between the hours of 16:00 and 22:30 – prime gig time!
It also confirms that there will be alcohol (yaaas!!) and there will be ‘regulated entertainment; the provision of live music,’ and the ‘provision of recorded music’, sounds perfect to us.
In pre preparation I have booked an cancel free hotel in Sheffield in September as the Arctic Monkeys are rumoured to play a massive gig there!

And if it is the Arctic Monkeys (which we’re praying it is) this means that it will be their second gig announcement in 2018 – exciting!
As you can imagine, fans are thrilled by the news and can’t wait for the band to announce what they have planned.
One tweeted: ‘Trying to stay calm when tickets go on sale for Arctic Monkeys homecoming gigs in Sheffield isn’t going to be easy.’
Another said: ‘Please, please, please, please let this be @ArcticMonkeys coming home.’
Someone else added: ‘Arctic Monkeys rumoured to be playing 4 nights in Sheffield. My little heart can’t take this.’
More: Arctic Monkeys
We guess we’re going to have to book some time off just in case the rumours are true…
