If you don’t know who Blink-182 are then we don’t want to know you (just joking… but not really).

But for all fans of pop punk icons (and any true recovering emo from back in the day), the band that made you Google what an enema was and wish you could run through town nude in slow motion have got some epic news.

The Rock Show hit-makers, who have been on the go since way back in 1992, officially announced their 16-date residency dubbed Kings Of The Weekend (taken from the song of the same name on 2017’s California) at the Palms Casino today.

The residency will kick-off on 26 May and run on select weekends through to 17 November in what is a monumental achievement for the Pop Punk genre.

The band will find their name listed alongside the likes of Frank Sinatra, Rod Stewart, Elvis and even Britney in taking on a stint in what is the home of blockbuster music shows.

‘When the Palms asked us to do a residency here in Vegas, we said ‘Absolutely!’,” bassist Mark Hoppus said in a statement. “Now, we just have to cast our showgirls, create our set list – a true throwback of Vegas classics with Sinatra, Liberace. Maybe we can even marry someone onstage … The possibilities in Vegas are endless.”

Blink have kept a low profile since wrapping up their 2017 tour in support of California (their first album without original frontman and guitarist Tom DeLonge).

Even though Tom sang many of the group’s most famous songs and was a fan favourite, the new line-up which has Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba on vox and guitar have proved to be a critical and fan success.
