College football fans will be getting a new video game in 2020.

We have waited for years ever since the NCAA Football series came to a crashing end after legal probelms revolving around players likeness. Well, our appitiate for a new game since NCAA Football 14 are finally about to come to an end. College Football Talk reported the following:

IMackulate Vision Gaming has announced its upcoming title, “Gridiron Champions,” is now slated for a release in 2020, although a more specific date has not been confirmed. The game will avoid the legal loopholes that come with licensing college football school logos and conference tie-ins that have led to legal battles for EA Sports with its licensed NCAA Football game by having 126 fictional teams. However, gamers will have the option of customizing their teams in the game, allowing for the option to recreate official teams right down to the player names.

The new attempt at a college football game will have some new features as well, including a customizable playoff format that allows for a 16-team playoff field.

I cant even begin to tell you how happy this makes me. My roommates and I in college spent countless hours playing this game. Wed playing it coming back from the bars, in the morning, after class and any moment where we were looking for a quick window to have a beer and challenge each other.

College football and basketball video games were the coolest thing on the block back in the day. You measured your manhood by how small of a school you could make a national championship contender. Old Dominion in NCAA 14 was my school of choice, and I rattled of national title after national title. Nothing was sexier than running the spread option, having a crazy athletic quarterback and destroying defenses. It was always so much fun.

Weve been on a drought ever since 2013, but it sounds like thats all coming to an end in a couple years. Personally, I will be buying this game immediately, and then letting the people on the internet do their thing. It would usually take about a week, and then the rosters on NCAA Football would be perfect. I have the distinct sense the exact same thing is going to happen here.

Lets get it!
