Coronation Street is lining up some violent events tonight as pensioner Flora McArdle falls victim to a vicious attack after teenagers Simon Barlow and his mate Tyler break into the flat looking for her riches.

Having discovered that Flora is now worth a fortune following the death of her son Harvey, Tyler encourages a reluctant Simon to join him in a robbery and they ransack the place. But when Flora interrupts them by coming home early from her party, she is knocked to the ground when Tyler lobs her jewellery box at her and flees.

Simon is arrested by the police and Peter is disgusted by his son but the youngster then cracks and admits that he has been forced by Tyler to join his gang and engage in criminal activities. This leads to the police then arresting Tyler.

Peter is proud of his son for finally doing the right thing but it looks like the nastiness is far from over when Tyler then approaches Simon in the ginnel and warns him that he is going to make him pay for grassing him up.
