Carters coming home, theyre coming home, theyre coming…

With Peter Barlow and Carla Connors reunion all but confirmed when all the facts are on the table, next weeks Coronation Street episodes kick off the long journey to them rediscovering their feelings for one another.

Saying that, Peter is already pretty much there. He has it at the forefront of his mind that he wants Carla back in his life so when Carla spots this, she realises that their history and connection could be beneficial to her cause.

But while Carla is practically using Peter as a means to an end, there is no denying that there is unfinished business and an existing chemistry here. Not to mention a throbbingly huge fanbase awaiting something happening.

As Peter witnesses Carla having a clash with her factory nemesis Alya Nazir, he is given food for thought and offers her support. Carla sees how much he wants to help and starts flirting before asking him to find a way to help Johnny get custody of Susie. Which peter dutifully does by handing Johnny the babys birth certificate.

Down the line, after the sale of the Rovers goes through, Peter will have some moolah burning a hole in his pocket – so where better to invest than in Underworld? As Carla and Peter face the prospect of working together, will Carla see him in a new – or should we say old – light?
