Rebecca White has spent months trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered life since the devastating crash that killed two members of her family, Lawrence and Chrissie. While Emmerdale fans know that Lachlan was responsible, he has used his aunts brain injury to his advantage and left her believing that she is to blame for what happened.
Lachlan was later forced to kill Gerry Roberts as he feared the truth would emerge but now thinks that he is home free to enjoy his future with Belle Dingle. But he is wrong – as he continues to be plagued by texts, he knows that someone else knows his secrets and could destroy everything.
When he comes to believe that Liv Flaherty is behind the texts, Lachlan wastes no time in striking again and causes a gas leak at Mill Cottage while also disarming the carbon monoxide detector. Liv and Robert Sugden are oblivious and slowly start to pass out but Lachlan realises that baby Seb might be in the house and races over.
He comes face to face with a groggy Liv, who he pushes, causing her to hit her head. He looks over a lifeless Robert and Liv, satisfied that his murder plan has come to fruition – but he will soon be presented with another obstacle to break down.
Meanwhile, Rebecca suggests to Ross Barton that they give things another go and Ross is finally hopeful that something is going right for him. But he is then shocked to find a distressed Rebecca with a stolen car transporter loaded with several of her dads motors.
She explains that she rescued the cars from being sold and sympathetic, he offers to help her stash them away. As they carry out their task, they end up kissing and things go further but when PC Swirling arrives, Rebecca panics.
She then goes off radar – and it seems to be Lachlans fault as she turns up just as he emerges from a gas filled Mill. Thinking fast, Lachlan lashes out and, armed with a bloody spanner, stashes his next victim in the boot of a car.
Has he killed Rebecca?
