Johnny Connor is set to be tipped over the edge as he fears losing contact with baby Susie forever next week in Coronation Street – and his actions will have massive ramifications as he kidnaps the child and plans to take her to Spain.
After Johnny uses the birth certificate that Peter Barlow gave him at a mediation meeting in order to make Eva look bad, she retorts by pointing out that Susie will hardly be safe with Jenny who once kidnapped baby Jack.
Johnny is enraged with Jenny, blaming her for the discussions failing and he raises a fist, almost hitting his shaken wife. After he storms out, he scoops up Susie while she is sleeping and Eva is thrown into a panic and calls the police.
Johnny hides out at a hotel and is pondering his next move but he questions whether he has ruined everything when Eva makes a tearful televised plea for Susies safe return. Meanwhile, Kate and Jenny are trying to find clues but are worried when they notice that Johnny hasnt been taking his MS pills.
As a result, he starts to struggle while caring for Susie and trying to feed her, sparking fears that he could suffer an MS attack at any time and be unable to look after the baby. Is disaster about to strike?
Johnny eventually contacts Liz McDonald who arrives and warns him against his course of action – but he tells her he loves her and wants to be with her before suggesting the three of them depart for Spain. But can Liz talk Johnny out of these rash actions?
And with his health threatening to deteriorate, will another twist see a dangerous situation unfold that could lead to Eva and the Connors facing yet more loss?
The storyline is the precursor for an emotional exit for Eva – but will she be departing with her baby daughter? Or will she never see her again?
