Hollyoaks fans were stunned when popular character Dirk Savage was killed off last night in a brutal twist.

But many were left wondering whether twisted Milo Entwistle had meant to kill Dirk. Dirk had dragged Milo outside after insisting that he come clean to Cindy about his real identity. Dirk had been irate when Cindy told him that Milo was blackmailing her.

After a short struggle Dirk fell into a swimming pool and Milo failed to see a warning sign before switching on a faulty power system. Milo turned on the lights and screamed when Dirk was electrocuted. Milo instantly claimed that the death was an accident – but fans were confused, with some speculating that Milo had simply pretended not to see the sign.

It cant be denied that Dirks death benefits Milo, who will carry on hiding his real identity, for now. But it turns out that Dirks death really was just an accident, after actor Nathan Morris, who plays Milo, responded to fan speculation on Twitter with just one word: Accident.

Milos had a run of devastatingly bad luck with people dying around him. His deranged quest to protect the Cunninghams stems from having killed Tom Cunninghams parents in a car crash years ago. It seems that despite Milos attempts to help the Cunningham family, he only brings tragedy to their doorstep.

But how much longer can Milo hide his secret? The Hollyoaks summer trailer shows Tom clutching a very incriminating newspaper clipping, so its not looking too good for the troubled character.
