Kristen Stewart shot to fame as part of the Twilight franchise – and now, shes returning to the franchise game with an even more ass-kicking role.

The 28-year-old has been confirmed as one of the new incarnations of Angels in Elizabeth Banks Charlies Angels reboot.

Kristen and Lupita Nyongo were initially linked to the film, but while Lupita is not in the iconic trio (sad face), Miss Stewart has plenty of good company.

British actresses Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska have been confirmed as Angels alongside Kristen.

This is another major role for Naomi, 25 – she was previously announced as Jasmine in the live action Aladdin remake, following her role as the Pink Power Ranger Kimberley in 2017s Power Rangers.

This will be Ellas biggest role to date following more modest appearances in Tiers of the Tropics, Casualty, Nyelas Dream and Midsomer Murders. The 23-year-old is the daughter of TV chef Lorraine Pascale.

Meanwhile, director Elizabeth will play a gender-flipped Bosley in the movie, taking over the role previously played by David Doyle, Ramon Rodriguez and Bill Murray.

Adventureland actress Kristen previously hinted she would be joining the film when she admitted she would love to do it.

She told Entertainment Tonight in February: Im an enormous fan of Liz Banks and I think that shes the perfect person to tell that story in this era. I would back her absolutely all the way.

The movie should still be fun, but if you ground it and make it about women that really know how to help each other, itll be perfect to release now. Were all together and strong.;

A revival TV series aired in 2011, starring Annie Ilonzeh, Minka Kelly and Rachael Taylor, but it was cancelled after just one season.

Banks – who made her directorial debut with Pitch Perfect 2 – said of the film: Charlies Angels, for me, is one of the original brands to celebrate the empowered woman since its debut in the 70s.

This film honours the legacy of Charles Townsend and his agency while introducing a new era of modern and global Angels. I couldnt be more excited to work with Kristen, Naomi and Ella to bring this chapter to fans around the world.

The rebooted Charlies Angels is due for release on 27 September 2019.
