One of the biggest surprises in Avengers: Infinity War – among many – was the appearance of Red Skull.
Last seen blasted into God knows where in Captain America: The First Avengers, Red Skull reappeared on Vormir, standing guard over the Soul Stone.
It was Red Skull who revealed to Thanos the only way to obtain the stone, which he successfully did, so with the stone now no longer around to be guarded, fans have been left wondering if that means Red Skull is free to leave Vormir… and it turns out, he is.
Red Skull is free to leave Vormir, and he is also free to pursue his desire for an Infinity Stone, revealed the Russo brothers during a fan Q&A on Twitter.
Red Skull has always had a hankering for the stone; after all, the events of The First Avenger saw him lay his grubby hands on the Tesseract, aka the Space Stone.
So now he is no longer trapped in a life of purgatory, giving the same answers over and over to those wanting to obtain the stone, what comes next for Red Skull?
Considering the Russo brothers comments, its unlikely he perished, although he could of been part of the 50% of the universes population Thanos destroyed.
Whats more likely is that we havent seen the last of him, with some future MCU movie bringing him back into the fold once again especially as Phase Four will see new characters, good and bad, hit the big screen yet also be entangled in the stories past.
