Casualty is set to air some of its most explosive scenes ever tonight when the recent ambulance and tanker crash leads to a catastrophic explosion that will kill at least one of our favourite characters as the latest episode starts with a bang – and ends in tragedy.
With Alicia having reported evil rapist Eddie to the police, a showdown led to him throwing her through a window. As she was rushed to hospital in an ambulance, disaster struck and the speeding ambulance overturned on the motorway.
A tanker then lost control and as paramedics – including Iain, Sam, Jan and Ruby – fight to avert disaster, the tanker detonates and a mighty explosion tears across the road, leading to the worst peril some of the staff have ever faced.
The race is on to save Alicia from the wreckage but in getting involved, the paramedic team also put their own lives on the line. And when Iain then makes a huge decision, the consequences are catastrophic and he will face the devastating aftermath for months to come.
At least one of the Casualty staff is going to die in the terror but we arent going to spoil who meets their maker. However, fans can expect to be shocked by the turn of events as a new storyline kicks off a brand new series of the popular medical drama.
As the dust settles from the stunt and the tragedy of the sequence, the real and most heartwrenching drama is only just beginning.
Casualty continues on Saturday 11th August at 9:10pm on BBC One.
