Mary Taylor is set to face a horrifying experience as her unsettling son Jude Appleton reveals his true colours and assaults her during an altercation in Coronation Street. Will she turn her back on her son for good?

Ever since Jude came into her life, Mary has been going the extra mile to try and make up for lost time – doing her best to help compulsive liar Jude out of his various scrapes which have left his marriage to Angie on the rocks.

Jude has constantly deceived Angie over things like his job and instead of being open with her, has been cowardly and tried to get out of confrontation as best he can in any way. Angie has now tired of it but Mary is oblivious and is even planning a vow renewal ceremony for the doomed couple.

And Jude is about to weave another web of lies when Ali Neeson saves Roy Croppers life only for Jude to end up taking the credit when Roy assumes that he was the one to administer an epi shot after he had a reaction to a bee sting.

Jude uses this to worm his way back into Angies affections but when Mary discovers that Jude is lying yet again, she snaps at her son and a row follows. But Jude will violently lash out at his shocked mum, leaving her petrified of him after she is attacked.

Fearing that he has a piece of his evil dad inside him, will Mary wash her hands of Jude – or will she suffer in silence? And is the attack a one off?
