A dark and familiar figure is set to return to Hollyoaks in upcoming scenes as Mac Nightingale makes a recovery – and his comeback causes Alfie to seriously struggle and take some drastic action that could see Ellie face a prison term.
The voice in Alfies head is troubling him again following the recent events that the family have endured including James incarceration and Milo Entwistles secrets – and Cindy worries that he is going to suffer a relapse.
He later receives a phone call from Mac but Yasmine Maalik assumes that he is just hearing things as, according to what everyone knows, Mac is still suffering from locked in syndrome following his injuries at the hands of Ellie.
However, as Alfie insists that is true, he heads to visit Mac while Yasmine informs Marnie that Alfie is hearing voices and they follow him to the hospital. However, they are all in for a shock when Mac is seen awake and out of bed – he has recovered and he is determined to prove that he is a changed man.
James is seething that his dad is back and trying to make amends with Marnie as he wants them to be a family again. Mac wants Marnie to give him a second chance but her focus with James is to ensure that Ellie doesnt get wind of his recovery before her trip away with Sami.
As the family argue over what to do about Mac and whether to believe he can be trusted, Alfie blurts out to Ellie that he is awake and he implores her to visit him. At the hospital though, Alfie sees Ellie talking to Mac and gets the wrong impression, believing that she is threatening to hurt him again.
In order to protect his dad, he calls the police and reports Ellie who is arrested and left facing a prison sentence. Despite his familys pleas, Alfie stands by his actions, certain that Ellie plans to kill Mac and declares that she can stay in jail.
James knows he needs Samis help to find a loophole in Ellies case but is it too late? With Ellie set to exit the show, will she be spending her future behind bars?
