Colin Farrell is one of Irish cinemas most famous exports – and he hasnt forgotten where hes come from.

The 42-year-old has been announced as the newest patron of Irish Film Festival London.

Following in the footsteos of Lenny Abrahamson and Ros Hubbard, the In Bruges actor has lent his supportto the festival, which is in its eighth year.

Colin said: I am delighted to support the Irish Film Festival London and the great work that they do to champion Irish filmmakers and cinematic talent in the UK.

They give Irish talent the crucial opportunity to be seen on screen in one of the film industrys most important cities, and I am proud to be a part of it.

Kelly OConnor, Irish Film Londons founder and programming director, said: Colin is such a warmly welcomed addition to our Irish Film London family. He has inspired a generation of Irish actors who are currently astonishing film audiences across the globe.

In honour of Colins patronage, Irish Film London is hosting Colin Farrell Fest – a double bill of In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths – at Regent Street Cinema on 20 September.

The double bill will be accompanied by a Q&A with casting director Ros Hubbard, who first discovered Colin in the late nineties in Dublin.

Farrell is best known for his roles in In Bruges, Intermission, Alexander, The Lobster and The Killing Of A Sacred Deer, while he will be seen in Tim Burtons live action remake of Dumbo.

Irish Film Festival London takes place between 21 and 25 of November. Tickets for the Colin Farrell double bill are available here.
