Its the moment that Robron fans have been waiting for in Emmerdale – the nuptials of Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle have arrived and it has been promised that viewers are in for a treat as the love and romance of the occasion acts as a small tonic to the terrible tragedy earlier in the week that saw Chas Dingle and Paddy Kirk say goodbye to their baby daughter Grace.
Chas is determined that her son will have the best day and refuses to listen to suggestions that the wedding is postponed. Putting on her outfit and painting on her make-up, she acknowledges that this is a happy day – the grief can come later.
Elsewhere, Victoria Barton is seething that Aaron knew about Adam being innocent of Emmas murder but Robert persuades his sister to forgive him and attend the wedding. Victoria wants to put her brother first and delivers a heartwarming speech at the ceremony.
Ahead of the vows, Aaron hands Robert a watch with the two dates of their weddings engraved on the back and they head off happy and excited for their special day.
As they walk up the aisle with Chas and Diane giving them away, they are watched by their loved ones as they exchange vows at a pagoda outside of the village hall.
With the two men gazing lovingly into one anothers eyes, they make their commitments to one another, prepared for their long future ahead – together – no matter what comes their way.
