Debbie Dingle has had a few weeks from hell since she arrived in Emmerdale but this one just gone has to rank up there among the worst. As well as fearing for the health of her daughter Sarah, she also had her life destroyed by the exit of Joe Tate and was then arrested for her role in the acid attack against Ross Barton.
Cain knows that Joe is dead after Kim ordered Graham Foster to deal with him. Graham was on his way to shoot Joe when Cain punched his would be son-in-law to the ground where he hit his head on a rock.
As Cain is racked with guilt over taking the life of a young man, Graham is holding back the fact that Joe actually survived this attack and was later finished off by him before the body was then disposed of.
Debbie was just reeling from her relationship with Joe falling apart when she was jailed after Simon dropped her in it. With Joe gone and her marriage plans shattered and now her liberty at stake which means that she could be locked away from Sarah for years, Debbie is at a low ebb.
And next week, it all gets worse when she fears that she wont be around for her daughter when she endures her heart transplant operation. As Sarah is left petrified to be told that a heart has been found which is suitable for her, Debbie is allowed to visit with police by her side.
She tries to be strong for Sarah and encourages her but is filled with fear as she watches the youngster be wheeled away through to surgery. Terrified that she will never see her again, Debbie struggles to hold it together as she is led back to the cells.
As Sarah goes through the operation, Charity and Faith as for an update but are left fearful by the response from doctors. As Debbie fears receiving death news at any time, will Charity be forced to make a devastating phone call?
Or will Debbie finally have something to feel relieved about?
