After finally being convinced of her own health by legend of the square Dr Harold Legg, Eastenders Dot Branning was distraught to hear that he was in fact the terminally ill one. As she sees the remnants of her old friends slip away, Dot is desperate to hold on to those she can.
Fearful to hear that Dr Legg has been taken to hospital this week, Dot kicks up a fuss until Keanu drives her to see her old friend. There, Doctor Legg reassures her its just a routine checkup, but he drops another bombshell – he wont be having any treatment.
Furious and in denial, Dot goes home and ignores any attempts Doctor Legg makes to contact her. A chat with Max makes her see sense and she starts to think about the situation differently, wanting instead to spend what time she can with her friend.
In an attempt to recreate treasured memories, Dot puts together a photo album for Doctor Legg – until shes interrupted by Bex Fowler, who talks with her about living in the past and the value of moving forward with your life.
Struggling to remain in a world that no longer exists, can Dot come to terms with the march of time?
As we come to the true end of Doctor Leggs time on the square, what will the show do to honour a member of their original cast?
