Joe Alwyn has four films to his name hitting cinemas in the next few months and all are potential awards winners.
But the actor is still best known for his romance with Taylor Swift – not that the weight of expectation sitting on his name is bothering him.
I just feel happy to be part of films that hopefully people are excited to see, he told Metro.co.uk with a shrug of his shoulders at the London premiere of The Favourite.
He added: To be here tonight… Im happy to be a part of it and to be going around with it – I feel very lucky to be doing so.
Joe and Taylor have been dating for two years but have kept their relationship incredibly private; Taylor appeared at the New York premiere for the film but chose not to walk the red carpet to keep the spotlight on her beau.
The 27-year-old has only had one leading role under his belt before his name hit headlines thank to a romance with Taylor, 28.
But in the next few months hell see The Favourite, Boy Erased, Mary Queen Of Scots, and Operation Finale all open to audiences who will finally get to know him as the actor, and not just as Mr Taylor Swift.
In The Favourite Joe stars as Samuel Masham, who falls for Emma Stones Abigail and the pair embark in a cat and mouse game as they try to one up each other.
Everything about this film I wanted to be a part of, he says of working with director Yorgos Lanthimos.
More: Taylor Swift
It ticked every box; it was very different and refreshing and unique, both as a script and in terms of a period film.
And I was a fan of Yorgos before, so to know he was on board with his very own signature twist, plus the three women who were already attached, it was a really exciting opportunity.
