Joaquin Phoenix has taken on a dangerous stunt scene for the upcoming movie The Joker, as he was pictured getting struck by a taxi on set.
The star was filmed running through the streets of New York while his co-stars, Shea Whigham and Bill Camp, were hot on his heels dressed up as police officers.
As he tried to make a grand escape, the 44-year-old can be seen flinging himself over a yellow taxi, as if to give the illusion the Joker might have been taken down.
With both feet off the ground, he appears to have got himself into quite the situation, as he leaps over the cab with the cops close-by.
The shoot has left us with so many unanswered questions such as: Will he survive? Will he escape? And why is he on the run?
But while we are left hanging on answers, it is great to see the actor do some of his own stunts.
Not only did we get a glimpse as to whats to come in the movie, we also got to see the Jokers outfit in full – and its incredible.
With white paint smeared on his face, Joaquin is pulling a sort of 1970s take of the Joker, with his iconic red smile and gelled back green hair.
He could be seen in a bright red suit, with a bright yellow waistcoat and bright green shirt poking out at the sleeves.
As we stare in amazement at the production, and get even more excited for the films release, director Todd Philips has revealed he is no happy with the paparazzi roaming over the set.
Philips recently shared pictures on his Instagram of Phoenix and co-star Zazie Beetz in character, and one fan commented that they were not impressed that so much of the film has already been seen before a final edit.
And in response, the director called out the paparazzi, who have access to the set as they are filming in a New York City subway station in uptown Manhattan.
Heres the issue. We have paparazzi all over our set, at every turn, Phillips wrote on Instagram.
And it bums me out that they constantly put out their bad shots. So I figure, may as well put out some good ones.
The film synopsis revealed: Under the direction of Todd Phillips, the film centers around the iconic arch nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen.
