Coronation Street has got quite the mixed bag for Christmas this year with plenty of humour and cheer to be found and even some romance. But dont expect that goodwill to spread across all of the families and couples of the street as there is also a dollop of betrayal and revenge heftier than a spoonful of nans bread sauce.

Show bosses have teased the main players for the Christmas episodes and as Jenny Connor has vengeance in mind, Gina Seddon is keen on seducing her sister Sallys husband Tim Metcalfe.

Meanwhile, there are testing times for Sinead and Daniel Osbourne, the truth about Lewis Archer is on the brink of being exposed and Peter Barlow and Carla Connor get closer to that long awaited union.

A Corrie spokesperson teased: Affairs of the heart will set pulses racing in Weatherfield this Christmas as the residents of Coronation Street get into the festive spirit. But as families gather and glasses are raised, will there be peace on the cobbles?
