A stupid decision from a drunken Daz Spencer has a horrific outcome in Emmerdale as he gets behind the wheel of his car after a few pints and ends up mowing someone down.

For once, Dazs luck appears to be on the up having scored himself a new job which comes with a swanky new company car, but a boozy lunch could put paid to all of that.

He meets with his new boss Trish to discuss his job over a liquid lunch as she insists they forgo any actual food, a recipe for disaster, and she later invites him back to her house to sign some contracts. Fearful she wants more than a working a relationship but wanting to keep his job, Daz agrees.

But hit with a conscience, he tells her he cant go through with it and she kicks him out mid-journey back to hers, leaving him stranded and sozzled in the middle of the countryside. He starts the long walk home and stumbles across his new car abandoned in a field with the keys still in.

Little does he know that Leanna, Amelia and Noah stole the car for a joy ride and crashed it, scarpering when Leanna demanded they leave the car where it is.

Daz has a quick nap in the car after deciding hes too drunk to drive, and after 40 winks chooses to carry on his journey home. But as he makes his way along the dark, windy lanes, Noahs phone, which was accidentally dropped in a foot-well, rings and distracts Daz.

Leaning down to pick the phone up, he takes his eyes off the road and theres a thud. Hes hit someone. Afraid of what hes done, he legs it and leaves the person to die.

Who has Daz hit? Will they die? And will the police come knocking for the accidental killer or will he give himself up?
