Jason Momoa reveals he was particularly moved by the emotional scenes he filmed with Nicole Kidman for Aquaman.

The former Game of Thrones star plays the lead superhero, born Arthur Curry, while Nicole, 51, stars as his on-screen mother Atlanna, the queen of the underwater nation of Atlantis.

The characters have a complex relationship and it seems Jason, 39, understandably became highly invested in the role.

Speaking to 9Honey Celebrity, the actor revealed: I think the one where I see my mother for the first time gives you chills.

Jason admits one scene in particular was hard to film (Warner Bros. Pictures via AP)

That was a hard scene, even though it doesnt look like it, because youre running up the beach in kill mode to save your woman, and then turn around and its your mother.

Jason couldnt be more complimentary of his Oscar-winning on-screen mum, as he added: To go from those two different energies was challenging but Nicole [Kidman] just killed it.

Living for their friendship.

It debuted in the US with a cool $67.4 million (£53.1 million), beating competition from the likes of Mary Poppins Returns and Bumblebee. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the blockbuster has taken more than $420 million (£330.8 million) internationally so far and with the holiday season upon us, ticket sales are only likely to grow.

Starting off 2019, Nicole has a few new projects under her sleeve with the return of Big Little Lies and a new TV series, The Underdog, while Jason will be working on smaller projects.
