Emmerdale star Adam Thomas was taken to hospital after dropping a weight on his face at the gym.

Adam confessed he had been an idiot and had his brother Scott by his side for support as he gave fans an update on how he was doing.

The actor shared an Instagram picture of himself lying in a hospital bed after spending three hours in A&E, revealing a pretty nasty injury under his eye.

He added that between being stuck with his sibling and his eye he didnt know which one was worse and joked that others who have suffered a similar injury should get in touch.

Adam said: Not sure that everyone knows yet but today I dropped a weight on my face!! … and then 3hrs in a&e with this guy @scottyspecial dont know which one was worse haha but am glad he was there by my side.

If you too have dropped a weight on your face please get in touch as its hard to talk to anyone about my experience unless youve actually been through it.

I know youre out there and I know your (sic) ashamed but its about time we spoke out and let others know that if youre an idiot…gyms are dangerous places.

His other brother Ryan joked in the comments: I love you so much adam to be fair something I would do #idiots.

Adam is now all patched up and on his way home with Scott (Picture: Instagram)

Scott added: ”today is going to be a good day” No its not John Snow (sic).

His former Emmerdale co-star Mike Parr quipped: Heavy news bro!!!

Adam later shared an Instagram update of himself and Scott leaving the hospital, with the Emmerdale star sporting a plaster under his eye.

Since leaving Emmerdale and his character Adam Barton, Adam has landed a job as a property executive.

However he didnt totally rule out returning to acting and confirmed that he has a part with the BBC in the pipeline.
