A Rejected Meghan Markle TV Pilot May See the Light of Day

Celebrities

Today, my fellow countrymen, is a blessed day. For on this day, we have confirmation that Meghan Markle—once an American actress famous for her role on Suits fame, and British royal and B.F.F. and travel buddy to the Queen—will once again be acting. Well, she did the acting years ago, but only now will the pilot—not picked up by Comedy Central—be seen by the world. As her former co-star Max Greenfield told James Corden on The Late Late Show that a hero among humanity has purchased the rights to the pilot, and intends to distribute it.

“I dont know what it was,” Greenfield told his host with a laugh. “It was called, like, The Boys and Girls Guide to Getting Down.” (Accurate.) “It was a pilot for Comedy Central,” Greenfield continued. “Adam Pally was in it . . . and then I got some sort of e-mail recently saying, This person has bought it and theyre putting it out. And I was like, Great. Good for you. I would assume they have their reasons as to why theyre putting it out.”

Greenfields comments to Corden jibe with a February dispatch from The Hollywood Reporter, Artist Rights Distribution picked up the North America distribution rights. T.H.R. described the project as “[director] Paul Sapianos tongue-in-cheek look at twentysomething singles clubbing and partying in Los Angeles.”

Comedy Central did not immediately respond to V.F.s request for confirmation of the distribution rights deal. The re-emergence of a suggestive TV project featuring the Duchess of Sussex probably isnt the royal familys favorite news of the day, but then again, we likely have a while to wait; she could have a whole new heir to the throne by then. In the meantime, however, you can still watch her run on Suits or, if youre feeling particularly ambitious, rent a couple of her Hallmark films. Oh, happy day!
