All Eyes Are on Elastigirl in a Glorious New Trailer for The Incredibles 2

Celebrities

Though its been about 14 years since The Incredibles made its theatrical debut, it has spiritually been 84 years in the interim between the first film and its long-awaited sequel. At last, a trailer has arrived for The Incredibles 2, the film that will re-unite viewers with the super Parr family. This time around, all eyes are on mom Ellen Parr/Elastigirl (voiced by Holly Hunter) as her star rises in the superhero world. Elastigirl has been chosen as the woman who can bring superheroes back into the mainstream world, rehabbing their image to everyday citizens (to the disappointment of Bob/Mr. Incredible, whos used to being the most famous one in the family).

While the rest of the family adjusts to the change, surly teen Violet (voiced by Sarah Vowell) struggles to accept her moms busy new role. She screams, starts fights, tosses her moms super suit in the garbage disposal (Lady Bird would be so proud). Speaking of super suits, Lucius Best/Frozone (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) makes a brief return toward the end of the trailer, sneaking off for an adventure while his wifes disembodied voice chides him in the distance. Theres also a brief appearance from the iconic Edna Mode (voiced by director Brad Bird) who remains disgusted by everyone around her.

As was hinted at the end of the last film (over a decade ago), baby Jack-Jacks superpowers still run a bizarre gamut. He can spontaneously combust, disappear, shoot lasers out of his eyes (Kanyemust be so jealous), and more. Just completely normal super-baby stuff. The Incredibles 2 hits theaters on June 15.
