Fans were shocked when Cardi B announced on 11 July that shed given birth to her and Offsets little girl named Kulture Kiari Cephus. An unusual name of course, but would we expect any less of Cardi?

Of course not, and her explanation for choosing the moniker is exactly what we expected too.

Kulture! Anything else woulda been basic, she said. True dat. Imagine Cardi rocking around with a daughter named Sarah or an Emily. That was never going to happen.

She revealed the meaning in an Instagram showing an image of herself pregnant with Migos track Higher We Go playing over the top.

The track features the lyrics Higher we go, beg and plead for the culture, and there we go.
