Mary Berry and Dizzee Rascal on Queen’s Birthday Honours list

Celebrity cook Mary Berry and grime pioneer Dizzee Rascal have been honoured in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list.

Berry, who has earned the status of national treasure over a six-decade career, was “overwhelmed” at being made a dame for services to broadcasting, the culinary arts and charity.

It is “such a huge honour”, she said.

Dizzee Rascal, real name Dylan Kwabena Mills, has been made an MBE for services to music.

Reacting to the news, Dame Mary added: “When I was first told that I was going to be a dame you don’t really believe it. And then it’s so exciting, and you feel very proud.

“For most of my life I have been lucky enough to follow my passion to teach cookery through books and the media.

“To be a dame is really the icing on the cake.”

The former Great British Bake Off judge joked: “I just wish my parents and brothers were here to share my joy, as my only achievement at school was just one O-Level – in cookery of course.”

Dame Mary is no stranger to the Royal Family,..

The Meaning Of Mariah Carey: Six revelations from the singer’s memoir

Mariah Carey has scored countless number one records, a shelf full of Grammy Awards and been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

But she has always been guarded about her private life – until now.

In her new memoir, The Meaning Of Mariah Carey, the singer discusses growing up in poverty in a violent household, her experiences of racism, her music, her marriages and much more.

Co-written with Michaela Angela Davis, it pulls back the curtain on a compelling rags-to-riches story and deconstructs (well, mostly deconstructs) the star’s image as a self-deluded diva.

Here are six of the more revealing moments from the book.

1) She experienced domestic violence at a young age
“By the time I was a toddler, I had developed the instincts to sense when violence was coming,” Carey writes.

She recalls numerous altercations between her father Alfred and brother Morgan, writing: “It was not uncommon for holes to be punched in walls or for other objects to go flying.”

Carey details an oc..

If You Want to Lose Weight, Trainers Recommend These 7 No-Equipment Exercises

We get it: when it comes to weight loss, it feels tough to even get started if you don't have access to a gym, home workout equipment, or even a set of dumbbells. Of course, as you probably know by this point, weight loss has a lot to do with your life outside of exercise, too; aspects like sleep and nutrition play key roles in getting after this goal. No matter how hard you work out, it's important to eat nutritious foods, like vegetables and protein-rich items, to see results. Exercise is only part of the equation.

If you're looking to lose weight without equipment, full-body and compound exercises are a great choice, said ACE-certified trainer Jennifer Nagel. “They use multiple muscle groups at once. With more muscle engagement comes more calorie burn,” she explained, because you use more energy when you're working more muscles. “Also, the more lean muscle you build, the more calories you burn at rest.”

I know what you're thinking: I'm here to lose w..
