Chris Hemsworth was of absolutely no help to Jessica Chastain on Sunday night at the 2018 Golden Globes as the actress attempted to pronounce Saoirse Ronan’s name.

The Irish actress regularly has people mispronouncing her name – most famously Dennis Quaid when he called her ‘Sheesha’ Ronan – but at the Globes, Jessica silently asked for some help as she pointed the open envelope in Chris’s direction.

‘And the Golden Globe goes to… ok come on,’ she says, looking at Chris but as he simply smiles and points his hand at the envelope Jessica realises she is all on her own and makes a valiant attempt at the name: ‘Shersha Ronan!’

Unfortunately, it was just a little bit off as Saoirse’s name is pronounced ‘Ser-sha’ – as she revealed on Saturday Night Live, when she performed a little ditty to confirm how exactly you say it .

(‘It’s Saoirse like inertia’.)
