Fiz Brown is about to be forced to say goodbye to Coronation Street as a fierce clash drives her out of Weatherfield as Jennie McAlpine exits for her maternity leave. With Evelyn Plummer, the acid tongued grandmother of Tyrone, outstaying her welcome, somethings got to give.

Fiz has tried to be patient with Evelyn and Tyrone is showing no signs of turfing her out as she makes herself more and more comfortable in the family home. Fiz will get to the stage where she has had enough – but this is a battle she seems unlikely to win.

Maureen Lipman, who plays Evelyn, told TV Times Magazine: Fiz doesnt stand a chance. Evelyn has a grudging liking for Tyrone, and she thinks Fiz is boring. She sets out to drive her away by being critical and ungracious, and generally driving a wedge between them.

It has already been confirmed that Evelyn will have a hand in Fizs exit storyline – but what about Fizs marriage to Tyrone? Is she just taking some time away from a household filled with tension or is this curtains for the couple?

Jennie recently filmed her last scenes for some time on Coronation Street and marked the occasion by celebrating no longer having to hide her baby bump behind cars while filming.

She said on her Instagram page: Mine and bumps last day on the @coronationstreet cobbles for a while. No more hiding behind Ford Fiestas!

Her last scenes are expected to air in December although Jennie plans to return to the role after her leave.

Jennie currently has a three-year-old son named Albert and announced earlier this year on social media that he was going to be a big brother.

She appeared in last years edition of Im A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, finishing in fourth place.
