More dramatic pictures have been released which could show the death of Coronation Street villain Pat Phelan during a final showdown with his wife Eileen. Connor McIntyre, Sue Cleaver and the Corrie team have been filming on location at Whitehaven for the action packed episodes that will reportedly see Phelan fall into the sea.

Reports circulated recently of the dramatic ending to the long running saga, with it being suggested that Eileen would discover the awful truth about the killer she is married to and push him from cliffs into the ocean in order to survive.

It has long been confirmed that there is an ending in store for Phelan and he will face justice – with show boss Kate Oates promising that his exit would be packed with twists and turns and also involve some exciting stunts.

Yesterday, we brought you pictures which showed Phelan angrily rowing with Eileen on a boat and now further images have been released, showing things getting more intense and Phelan looking very worried as he sails on the ocean.

It’s going to be a holiday to remember for Phelan and Eileen but for all the wrong reasons – but will it lead to Weatherfield finally being free of the monstrous Phelan once and for all?

As night fell, Connor and Sue were happy to get to know the locals of Whitehaven who had been watching them film the dramatic scenes and Connor laughed and joked with fans as he posed for selfies and group photographs.

The cast and crew will be on location for the week as the complete the episodes and viewers can expect to see them on our screens next month.

Before then, a lot of build up is still to play out as Phelan edges closer to discovering that his daughter Nicola Rubinstein is plotting against him with Gary Windass while Seb Franklin remains in hiding.
