Ed Sheerans grime-inspired single Take Me Back To London has topped the UK singles chart a week after Wiley branded the singer a culture vulture.

Ed collaborated with Stormzy on the single, which has become his eighth number one after rising 10 places in a week.

However, Stormzy came under criticism from fellow grime artist Wiley, who called the track weird on his mates Instagram.

Oh s*** so now Ed you wanna do grime yeah f***in ell mate [sic], the 40-year-old Wiley wrote, accompanying his comment with obligatory crying laughing emojis.

And while Stormzy clapped back at the rapper, jumping to Eds defense writing: You know I love you and respect you brother but nah dont do that, it didnt stop Wiley from going off in a series of now-deleted tweets.

Ed knows this when I hear him on grime in 2019 I will have loads to say he already knew which means he knew what he was doing but #Dead Cos you dont care about grime #Folk you breaded stormzy, Wiley wrote.

More: Ed Sheeran

Initially appearing on Eds former number one album No.6 Collaborations Project, a new music video featuring the 28-year-old and the newly single Stormzy living their best lives in the countryside, as well as a remix from producer Sir Spyro starring Jaykae and 18-year-old rap superstar Aitch saw Take Me Back To London rise up the charts again.
