Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald has received a new trailer fresh from San Diego Comic-Con.

The new trailer shows a wealth of dazzling new creatures along with a better look at Johnny Depp as the nefarious Grindelwald – who looks set to deliver a memorable villain the first outing was missing.

The closing moment also debuts the first look at alchemist Nicolas Flamel, who is responsible for creating the philosophers stone and achieving the Elixir Of Life.

The follow-up to Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them will see Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) join forces with a young Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) to prevent evil Gellert Grindelwald (Johnny Depp) from enacting his plan of having wizards and witches rule over non-magical beings.

Along with the above, the cast also includes Katherine Waterston, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller and Alison Sudol who all reprise their roles.

The film is the second of a planned five instalments, which will kick off a longstanding battle between Dumbledore and Grindelwald.

The sequel has been under controversy over its decision not to address Dumbledores sexuality, with actor Jude Law recently defending the decision.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Law said: Jo Rowling revealed some years back that Dumbledore was gay. That was a question I actually asked Jo and she said, yes, hes gay.

But as with humans, your sexuality doesnt necessarily define you; hes multifaceted. I suppose the question is: How is Dumbledores sexuality depicted in this film?

What you got to remember this is only the second Fantastic Beasts film in a series and whats brilliant about Jos writing is how she reveals her characters, peels them to the heart over time.

Youre just getting to know Albus in this film, and theres obviously a lot more to come.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald releases 16 November 2018.
