Gary Barlow has assured fans UK and European dates of Take Thats 2019 world tour are still going ahead after cancelling shows on the trek last week.

The Never Forget hitmaker pleaded with fans to understand on Friday after revealing a serious family illness meant he will no longer be able to go ahead with the worldwide jaunt.

However, he has since confirmed it is only the Australia, Asia and South America shows that have been affected – and dates closer to home have never been in question.

Just for clarity re my instagram live last week – At the moment its going to be difficult to take our Odyssey tour to our fans in Australia, Asia and South America as hoped, but I can assure you our UK and European dates are 100% going ahead and have never been in question, the 47-year-old told his fans on Twitter.

In Garys original Instagram Live, he explained how he, Mark Owen and Howard Donald had held a big ambition to complete the global trek next year in celebration of the groups 30th anniversary, but would no longer be able to commit to far-flung shows.

We had a big ambition next year to do a world tour, but I have actually got an illness in my family and it means I am not going to travel for the next two years extensively, he explained.

I thank my two bandmates who have been so very understanding, but I just have to be at home – I cannot leave. I didnt want people getting frustrated that were not getting out there. Im a little stuck at the moment, so please be understanding.
