Glastonbury has confirmed that Stormzy will headline the 2019 festival.
Its finally official!
Earlier today everyone seemed pretty certain that the grime artist would be bagging the top slot for the June 2019 festival when the Somerset festival appeared to have revealed the exciting news by plastering posters in windows of Oxfam shops on Thursday.
As fans celebrated the news, others waited with baited breathe for an official announcement on social media – even though the poster spoke volumes.
Tweeting out a picture of the poster, the organizers wrote: Were delighted to announce that Stormzy is confirmed as the first headliner for Glastonbury 2019.

The multi award-winning British MC will headline the Pyramid Stage on Friday, June 28th.
So clear out your schedules for 28 June, people.
Stormzy – clearly excited – shared the same image on his Instagram page, writing in his caption: THE HEADLINE ACT – GLASTONBURY 2019, well lets be fucking having ya then.
The news has been met with mixed reactions.
One supporter tweeted: Stormzy being one of Glastonburys headliners is an excellent decision.
Another Stormzy fan weighed in: Mad to see stormzy headlining Glastonbury. He can definitely do it.
Others werent exactly impressed with the headliner choice, with one critic stating: So Stormzy is headlining Glastonbury. If thats not selling its sole then what is? Im not totally against him even performing on the Pyramid, hed do a good set, but to headline it. The Rolling Stones, Bowie, The Who…. Stormzy.
Another agreed: Just dont think Stormzy is big enough to headline Glastonbury.
The incredible milestone has certainly come very early in Stormzys career with the rapper releasing his debut album, Gang Signs & Prayer, in February 2017.
GSAP earned critical-acclaim and went straight in at number one on the UK charts.
The announcement comes just days after Stormzy was hotly-tipped to take the Friday slot. Other acts rumoured for the remaining headliner sets, include Childish Gambino and Liam Gallagher, while Paul McCartney and The Cure are also favourites.
Stormzy will now become the first British rapper to headline Glasto after Jay-Z flew the flag for the US in 2008.
After taking a break this year, Glastonbury 2019 will arrive at Worthy Farm in Somerset on 26 June until 30 June.
