Graphic Novel Bolivar Tapped For Movie by Fox, 21 Laps & BOOM!

EXCLUSIVE: Fox has acquired feature rights to Bolivar, the debut graphic novel by author/illustrator Sean Rubin. The book was published by the BOOM! Studios imprint Archaia last November and it was heralded as one of NPR and New York Public Librarys best childrens books of 2017 and is nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Childrens Comic.

Bolivar is the story of a little girl living in New York City who discovers that her next-door neighbor is the worlds last living dinosaur. Shawn Levy and Dan Levine will produce through 21 Laps alongside Ross Richie and Stephen Christy from BOOM! Studios. Becca Edelman will oversee the project for 21 Laps and Adam Yoelin will co-produce and oversee for BOOM!. Kira Goldberg will oversee the project for the studio.

Arrival producer 21 Laps is currently gearing up for Stranger Things Season 3 and its latest film, Kodachrome was released on Netflix last weekend. The Darkest Minds at Fox and Kin at Lionsgate, will be released this summer. Last year 20th Century Fox became a minority owner of BOOM!, and the company is also developing at Fox Mouse Guard with director Wes Ball and Irredeemable with director Adam McKay. 21 Laps and BOOM! are also working together, alongside Anonymous Content, on the Imagine Agents movie for Fox.
