Green Bay Packers receiver Trevor Davis was Sunday after allegedly making a joke about bombs at LAX.

Davis was taken into custody prior to a trip to Hawaii, and the details dont sound good at all.

TMZ reported the following:

Law enforcement sources tell us the 24-year-old — a 5th round draft pick out of Cal in 2016 — was at the Hawaiian Airlines ticket counter with a female companion to check into a flight when the attendant asked the usual security questions about their luggage.

Instead of playing it straight — were told Davis turned to the other woman and said, “Did you remember to pack the explosives?”

She apparently said, “No” and tried to get him to stop. He then said, “Just kidding” — but it was too late.

Yikes. This doesnt sound good at all. Im pretty sure rule number one that you learn before ever walking into an airport is that jokes about guns, bombs and hijackings are not welcomed at all. This point was driven home crystal clear in “Meet the Parents.”

These are allegations, but Davis is in big trouble if hes convicted of making criminal threats. Why would anybody ever find these comments to be funny? Were living in a current climate where nobody finds this stuff to be entertaining or hilarious, especially given the recent events in Parkland, Florida.

I get the fact people say dumb things from time to time. I say dumb stuff all the time, but I dont do it in airports. The terrorist attacks on 9/11 changed the world forever. They also made airports locked down forever in this country.

I dont know what Davis was thinking if he made these comments, but its a bonehead thing to say.
