For streaming, 100 million times gets a band Platinum, and 1 billion gets them a Billion certification.

The secretary general for the Korea Music Content Industry Association said: We decided to implement a certification based on Gaon Charts data as such a system is necessary for a country with active music consumption.

EXO-CBX is the first official sub-unit of Kpop band EXO formed by SM Entertainment. The group is made up of three former EXO members – Chen, Baekhyun and Xiumin.

Their song Blooming Days came in at number one on its first week of release and broke a record on the Hanteo chart for the highest first-week sales from a sub-unit with over 250,000 copies.

Band member Baekhyun set Twitter hearts a-fluttering with his debut tweet that had him in a bathrobe.
