Morrissey postponed his European tour dates for July.

The 59-year-old singers latest string of gigs was officially called off by his management today.

In a statement they said that logistical circumstances were to be blamed for the dates being bumped.

Due to logistical circumstances beyond our control, the UK/European Morrissey concerts scheduled for July will be postponed, the message shared by the Gigs and Tours Twitter account read.

We deeply regret any inconvenience to the fans and promise to reschedule UK and European dates as soon as possible.

Concerts for UK, Germany and Sweden will not be going forward, and the former Smiths singers representatives assured fans that the event will in fact be rescheduled.

The decision came after Morrisseys manager Peter Katsis hit back at plans for a protest party organised at the same time as his Manchester gigs by music writer Dave Haslam.

Haslam later released his own statement on the matter, writing that while he sympathised with fans who made plans to see him, we know what its like to be let down by Morrissey.

I sympathise with fans who made plans to see him, we know what its like to be let down by Morrissey. If dates are rescheduled, well be happy once again to provide an alternative event in the city. One that counters Morrisseys support for Tommy Robinson and the far-right. pic.twitter.com/9ldW2urEEW

Morrissey has been accused of racism for comments he made about Muslims and Sadiq Khan. In an interview with John Riggers for the fansite Morrissey Central, the 58-year-old attacked London Mayor Sadiq Khan, and made fun of the way spoke.

He said: I saw an interview where he was discussing mental health, and he repeatedly said “menel”…he could not say the words mental health. The Mayor of London! Civilization is over!

He then went on to claim that perpetrators of acid attacks are treated as victims, saying: All of the attacks are non-white, and so they cannot be truthfully addressed by the British government or the Met Police of the BBC because of political correctness.

Morrissey also discussed the evils of halal meat, claimed that you cant find eggs anymore in supermarkets, and admitted that while being pro-Brexit, he didnt actually vote in the EU referendum.
