Wednesday, being an auspicious day in the Tamil calendar, saw the launch of two films – Magamuni starring Arya in the lead, besides an untitled film of Jyotika.
Directed by debutant filmmaker S Raj, the shooting of the Jyotika starrer, produced by Dream Warrior Pictures, will start from this weekend. We hear the makers are planning to erect a set of a school worth Rs 50 lakh in the city where half the shooting will be done. This project features Malayalam actor Hareesh Peradi, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Sathyan and Kavitha Bharathi in important roles. While Sean Roldan of Pa Paandi fame has been roped in to compose music, Gokul Benoy will be in charge of the cinematography.
As for Magamuni, it is produced by Studio Green (that had bankrolled Vijay Deverakondas political drama NOTA), and is helmed by Mouna Guru fame director Santha Kumar. Mahima Nambiar and Induja will share screen space with Arya in this film, which has music by Thaman.
