Pink has been forced to clarify what she pulled out of her mouth before singing the national anthem at the start of Sunday’s Super Bowl.
People had a lot of guesses as of to what object the singer spat out the moment before belting out the national anthem, with many on Twitter guessing it was a piece of gum.
But, of course, that would be a tad unprofessional. The people of the internet were quick to point this out as many began criticising the 38-year-old hitmaker for munching on some sweets before performing at one of the most-watched live televised events of all time.
But, it’s Pink – she’s is a pro!
And she was also extremely ill with the flu, apparently, and needed to take a Lozenge before singing to ensure she sounded the best version of herself that she could.
She simply tweeted: ‘It was a throat lozenge.’
Replying to a fan who criticised her performance she wrote on the social media site: ‘Yeah but atleast I suck while singing out countries national anthem, and you just suck by yourself on a dirty couch [sic]’
Oh, burn.
The fan was criticising Pink for the moment she went for a high note and her voice broke, but Pink styled it out by hitting an even higher note instead to huge applause.
She has been feeling unwell for a few days, and at a pre-game concert, she told the crowd: ‘I’m not going to sound like crap all night because you guys are going to help me.
‘We’re going to rock the fuck out and have a good time.’
