A crash between a New Jersey Transit bus and and a church van ending in several people being taken away in ambulances, video from the scene shows.

The crash happened around 2 Friday morning at the corner of South 16th Street and Springfield Avenue in Newark, New Jersey's largest city, an NJ Transit official tells News 4. The official said the van hit the bus, which was going from Maplewood to Newark Penn.

Video from the scene shows the NJT bus up against a fence with a white church van behind it. People were also seen being loaded onto ambulances while on stretchers.

The extent of the injuries of the people taken away in ambulances wasn't clear early Friday nor was it known how many people may have been hurt.
