Singer Etta Bond created the #SurfaceChallenge to encourage fellow artists and musicians to get talking about mental health.

Ettas new track Surface, all about finding out whats behind someones exterior, spawned the challenge, where she asked followers to write their own lyrics to the track.

The challenge was a chance for people to express themselves honestly and open up about issues they battle with such as mental health.

Its about going beneath someones surface, she said of the song. Behind their Instagram posts. I want to know what youre hiding, and lets not hide it anymore.

As Etta picked the winners of the challenge, she then went to visit each one, taking Metro.co.uk along for the ride as she asked them to talk about their own experiences and what inspired them to write their lyrics.

Rapper Little Ralph told her: It helped me to open up so properly. If people dont have a talent to get it out in music, I want to be that voice.
