Union J have made a comeback with their track Alive, after not dropping any tunes in over three years.

And it appears they have huge plans up their sleeves for their return, as Josh Cuthbert revealed the boys are hoping to collaborate with a massive A-lister.

Talking to Metro.co.uk, the 26-year-old revealed his excitement for the project, and discussed the bands plans for the upcoming year.

He said: We are potentially working together with someone – but I cant reveal who as of yet – I think Id get chucked out of the band if I did.

But its going to be announced after the album which will be out next year.

Although there is no release date yet for their album, Josh assured us it would be out early next year once he has returned from his honeymoon.

He said: Alive is the first single in three years. Our last track did really really well so we still did stuff off the back of that for a while, but it did slowly start to get to the point where we were like we need to sort out what we want to do, whether we want to carry on or crack on with more music and we always wanted to release new music.

Josh continued: We got involved with a great team and they made it happen, we havent deliberately waited this long – its just the time is right and everything has fallen into place.

The former X Factor contestant revealed how while the boys were signed onto Sony they didnt get too much of a say in what they put out, but now believes they have more freedom with their music.

He said: With no disrespect to our previous music, which we really liked at the time, we didnt have much of a say in terms of what we put out there.

We just had to do what the label wanted us to do really, whereas now we are in complete control of all the music we put out, all of the music we write, all of the music we release and all of the music put on the album.

We just want people to go “who sings that? I like this, who sings that?” and then when they find out its Union J I want them to be like “oh wow I didnt expect that.”

The boys produced 60 to 70 percent of their new album and have revealed its a lot cooler than their previous work.

Josh said: It is all us, and at the end of the day artists know more than any one, more than any label and more than any management what they want to do. And we are doing that.
