We best know Zac Efron as basketball star turned showtunes king Troy Bolton in the High School Musical films – but his latest role is an entirely different kettle of fish.

The 31-year-old plays Ted Bundy in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, and the actor has given us a first look at him in character as the notorious serial killer.

A still shared to Zacs Instagram sees him wearing a blue suit and a patterened tie, while sporting wavy locks; the image appears to have come from a court scene.
