A standalone episode about Carlas mental health will follow, with show boss Iain MacLeod telling us: Its a standalone episode that will be mental health focused and Carla focused. It will also be the reveal to the audience of who was behind the factory roof collapsing. Its a really nice fusion of important, serious drama about mental health.
Killer revealed!
The investigation into who brought that roof down and killed Rana will continue for some time (which may or may not be good news for you) and there are indications that the viewers will discover their identity long before the community. But it leads to the incarnation of the latest cobbles bad guy.
Iain teased: What I have always liked about Corrie is the ability to have villains like Hillman and Phelan who come in and burn bright and also the more complicated, long range villain like Mike Baldwin – ruthless, self serving and looking out for number one.
Were designing a character in that latter type who can stay long term as an antagonistic just messing up lives. By going with this character on this journey – their intentions are good and they rapidly snowball. It will be a very slow burn.
Gary loses everything
Gary has got himself into a right old mess with villain Rick and its not going to get much better for him. As he is forced to do the loan sharks bidding, he finds himself ripping off and threatening innocent people and his conscience gets the better of him.

Led by Aggie, the cobbles newest clan are about to land. And with son James set to be involved in a footballer homophobia storyline, they will soon be in the midst of some heavy drama. But theres plenty of warmth and humour to be had from them too says Iain.
He told us: I am really excited to introduce this new family – the audience is going to love them! Theyre funny, warm and will pull together through thick and thin in the storylines weve got lined up for them.

This is one of the biggest hidden scandals in the UK today. Our research has shown us that in many towns and cities across Britain, people are being forced to work against their will, living in extreme poverty and in fear for their safety, all so ruthless criminal gangs can get rich at their expense.
