- Early life and education
Gordon Ramsay was born on November 8th, 1966, in Johnstone, Scotland. He was raised in a council flat in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. He attended North Oxfordshire Technical College to study hotel management, and at the age of 19, he trained under some of the top chefs in London.
- Early career in football
As a teenager, Gordon Ramsay was a promising footballer. He played for the Warwickshire youth team and even trialed with the Scottish football club, Rangers. However, a serious injury at the age of 15 ended his footballing dreams, and he turned his attention to cooking.
- Career in cooking
After training under some of the top chefs in London, Gordon Ramsay moved to France to train in the art of French cooking. He worked in some of the best restaurants in Paris and gained experience in various cuisines. In 1993, he returned to London and opened his first restaurant, the Aubergine.
- Michelin star success
The Aubergine quickly gained a reputation for exceptional food, and in 1996, Gordon Ramsay earned his first Michelin star. He would go on to earn a total of 16 Michelin stars throughout his career, making him one of the most successful chefs in the world.
- TV shows
Gordon Ramsay’s success in the culinary world led to numerous TV shows. He first appeared in the UK show, Boiling Point, which documented the opening of his restaurant, the Aubergine. He then went on to host the popular shows, Hell’s Kitchen, Kitchen Nightmares, and MasterChef.
Gordon Ramsay is also a successful author, having written numerous books on cooking, including his autobiography, Roasting in Hell’s Kitchen. He has also written books on specific cuisines, such as Italian and French, as well as cookbooks for beginners.
In addition to the Aubergine, Gordon Ramsay has opened numerous successful restaurants worldwide. These include Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in London, which has held three Michelin stars since 2001, and the Gordon Ramsay Steakhouse in Las Vegas.

Gordon Ramsay is also a philanthropist and has worked with numerous charities over the years. He has supported organizations such as the Scottish Spina Bifida Association and the Scottish Association for Mental Health. He has also raised money for various causes through his TV shows.

Gordon Ramsay is married to Tana Ramsay, and the couple has five children together. They have been married since 1996 and have been together for over 30 years. In addition to his family, Gordon Ramsay is also an avid supporter of football and has been involved with the Tottenham Hotspur Football Club.

Gordon Ramsay’s exceptional culinary skills have earned him numerous awards and recognition over the years. In addition to his Michelin stars, he has been awarded the Catey Award, the Good Food Guide Chef of the Year Award, and the Glenfiddich Spirit of Scotland Award.
