CBS released a video of Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski reading a letter to his younger self over the weekend, and it might make the room a bit dusty.

Duke fell to Kansas in an awesome game Sunday night, but that hardly diminishes this awesome video from CBS.

The legendary coach addresses his upbringing, his time at West Point and his unbelievable career at Duke. Good luck watching this and not getting a shade emotional. I rarely say there are videos that you should stop everything to watch. This is without question one of those videos.

“You are not going to believe how lucky you are.”

Thats what sports is all about. Coach K came from a working class family, was the first of his family to attend college and now hes the proud owner of five national championship rings. Im not sure theres a more American story than his.

People sometimes forget the power of sports, and its important to recognize that sometimes it is more than a game. Athletics provide people with an avenue to a better life, as proven with Coach K. His legacy means a lot more than final scores, stats, championships and box scores. He has served as a shining example of what it means to be a leader for decades. Its going to be a sad day when he retires, even for people who despise Duke.

You’re Probably A Terrible Person If You’re Not Cheering For Loyola

There’s no excuse to not firmly be on the Loyola bandwagon if your team is already out of March Madness.

Loyola and Sister Jean officially accomplished the unthinkable Saturday night when they routed Kansas State to punch a ticket to the Final Four.

It wasn’t a dream, we are headed to the Final Four!#OnwardLU#FinalFour#MarchMadnesspic.twitter.com/O6vggdqJve

— Loyola Basketball (@RamblersMBB) March 25, 2018

This is why we love March Madness. A team of overlooked recruits is 80 minutes of great basketball away from a national championship.

We’re taught to believe that there’s always a select group of teams that will rule college basketball, and that’s actually true for the most part. Teams like Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, UNC and UCLA will always be college basketball royalty.

.@RamblersMBB: Forget best story of the tourney, they’re the best story EVER

— Jim Rome (@jimrome) March 25, 2018

IT’S OVER! See you in San Antonio!#Loyola – 78
KSU – 62#OnwardLU#MVCHoops#MarchMadness#FinalFour#NoFinishLinepic.twitter.com/eTyGLLNYcE

— Loyola Basketball (@RamblersMBB) March 25, 2018

However, we shouldn’t forget that overlooking teams is dangerously stupid, but also so much fun at the same time when they rise from the ashes. How could anybody forget Butler’s back-to-back national title game appearances? That was about as much electricity as you could ever hope for in basketball.

Now, the basketball gods have blessed us with the Loyola Ramblers and Sister Jean. God is literally on their side when they bring a nun to the games. Will Loyola beat Michigan? I don’t have a damn clue what will happen, but I know that I’ll be cheering for them like a school boy about to pick up his first woman.

Roll Ramblers, roll!

18 Times Peyton Manning Looked More Like An Average Guy Than An Athlete [SLIDESHOW]

It’s Peyton Manning’s 42nd birthday Saturday, so let’s celebrate it with all the times he looked more like a dad than an elite professional athlete.

Where do you even start with “The Sheriff”? The guy is can absolutely sling it on and off the field. He is the only quarterback in NFL history to win a Super Bowl with two different teams. He singlehandedly made everyone in the country obsessed with yelling “OMAHA!” He’s undeniably hilarious and is just a great guy all around. Peyton is arguably one of the most likable guys to play the game.

Part of what makes him so likable is the fact that he looks more like a regular old dad than a future first-ballot Hall of Famer. He looks like the kind of guy that would be manning (pun intended) the grill at his neighborhood barbecue in a fresh pair of white new balance sneakers and a tucked in t-shirt, while talking about last weekend’s golf trip and cracking corny jokes.

Other than Phil Kessell (aka “Cheeseburger Phil”), there isn’t another guy out there who looks less like a pro athlete than Peyton… but that’s why we love him.

And so, here are 18 times you thought Peyton was your dad.

Dolphins wide receiver Danny Amendola was tearing up the dating scene a few weeks ago. But just last month, he seemed to be living in romantic bliss with actress and former Miss Universe Olivia Culpo.

The two reportedly started dating back in early 2016 — right before Amendola went to two Super Bowls with the Pats and Culpo scored herself a Sports Illustrated debut.

But Friday, it looks like the relationship may have taken a turn for the worst. Francesca Mariano reported on Friday that Danny Amendola just unfollowed his maybe-former girlfriend and deleted all of his photos with her.

I do not want to alarm but it seems Danny Amendola has unfollowed Olivia Culpo on Instagram and has deleted their pics together

— Francesca (@BarstoolFran) March 23, 2018

The two were previously very public on Instagram and frequently posted pictures together.

Culpo has kept photos referencing her relationship with the former Pats wide receiver in her profile.

She’s also still following Amendola, as well as a few fan accounts dedicated to him. So there are three possible situations here. Either they’re still together and Danny was hacked; they broke up and she’s hanging on to whatever shred of hope they still have as a couple; or she doesn’t have access to a phone. Either way, you’ve gotta delete your pics together after a breakup. It’s social media 101.

I hope they didn’t break up but you better believe I’ll be checking their Instagrams for any updates.

Former MLB Pitcher Awarded $2 Million In Civil Suit After Punching Man On LSD

Former Major League Baseball pitcher Greg Reynolds was awarded $2 million this week in a civil lawsuit stemming from a fight in 2015.

In January 2015, Reynolds left his home and found 19-year old Domenic Pintarelli naked and trying to destroy his mailbox. The struggling big leaguer approached Pintarelli who then attacked him. Fearing for his safety and the safety of his girlfriend, Reynolds punched Pintarelli in the face. Once the police showed up, they discovered Pintarelli to be on LSD.

The punch ended up fracturing multiple bones in Reynolds’ hand.

The civil suit argument was predicated upon the fact that Reynolds’ career was dramatically altered based on that night.

Reynolds will get the $2 million from his neighbor who hosted the acid party.

According to the New York Daily News, Reynolds said, “The initial shock of the whole event was pretty bad for a while. But you have to pick yourself up and move on. We’re trying to put this behind us and move forward, and the result of the trial will definitely help us do that.”

Greg Reynolds never pitched in the major leagues following the incident.

The former professional pitcher was the second overall pick in the 2006 draft, being selected by the Colorado Rockies. Throughout his time in the majors, Reynolds accumulated a record of 6-11 and had an earned run average of 7.01. Following that, he moved to Japan in an attempt to resurrect his career.

He signed a minor league baseball contract with the San Diego Padres back in 2016 after the incident but that did not last long.

Is Dez Bryant’s Career In Dallas Over?

With the Cowboys agreeing to sign free agent wide receiver Allen Hurns Friday, it appears Dez Bryant’s days in Dallas are numbered.

According to Josina Anderson, the Cowboys have agreed to signed Deonte Thompson to a one-year deal and Hurns to a two-year contract in consecutive days.

Both signings are indicative of Bryant’s murky future in Dallas.

Bryant is currently scheduled to make $12.5 million and would make an additional $4 million if he’s on the team. If Dallas cuts him, the team would save $8.5 million — costing them $8 million this year. Comparatively, if the team keeps Bryant and cuts him next summer, it’d only cost the Cowboys $4 million in dead money.

Dallas resigned Terrance Williams to a four-year contract last offseason and he’s scheduled to make $3.5 million this year. They also have Cole Beasley, Ryan Switzer and Noah Brown under contract. Switzer and Brown are both on rookie contracts.

Dallas is in a horrendous cap situation. The team currently has approximately $50,o00 in cap space. The space does not include the additional money that’s allocated to a team’s draft picks. Bryant might be a casualty of the cap crunch because they need additional space.

Bryant’s $16.5 million salary for the upcoming season is the third highest on the team. The Cowboys’ seventh-highest paid player is retired quarterback Tony Romo, who is scheduled to count $8.9 million against the cap.

With such a bad cap situation, the Cowboys are squandering a short window where quarterback Dak Prescott will be making under $1 million on his rookie contract.
