If the deadly misery of EastEnders and the revenge and potential tragedy in Coronation Street dont tickle your sprouts, you might fancy a trip to Emmerdale, for a slightly more uplifting Christmas experience – although dont expect every resident to be smiling and laughing.
The central focus of the Emmerdale Yuletide season is the surprise wedding of Marlon Dingle and Jessie Grant although it throws up more than a few surprises for many of the guests, including the groom who doesnt have a clue he is getting wed.
But elsewhere in the village, Bob Hope is facing a very miserable time of it, Bernice Blackstock faces crisis after crisis and Matty Barton and Cain Dingle are both involved in violent attacks.
